Youth Soccer for Boys and Girls - PreK to High School serving towns of Marion, Mattapoisett, and Rochester

Recreation Soccer

Fall-Only Program for kids from PreK to middle school (grade 8). Saturday mornings @Dexter Lane Fields in Rochester, MA, 7 weeks, from early September through the end of October (no games over Columbus Day weekend). Between 8 am and 12:30 pm. Co-ed. Each age group plays for 1 hour.

The program is run by Club Soccer coaches, led by Eric Parada. Additional volunteers include ORU board members and local high school soccer players.

A typical program for Pre-K- grade 3 consists of 30 minutes of skills and instruction followed by 30 minutes of small-sided gameplay.

Older age groups will have shorter training sessions and more gameplay.

Our goal is for kids to have fun and learn the game. Development is key, but the score of the game is not.

Each player receives an ORU Soccer shirt that they wear each Saturday.

Cost: $125.

Travel Soccer

ORU has travel soccer for more competitive players. Players try out for these teams in the fall and are notified of their team placement. Our teams play in the South Shore Soccer League. Boys and Girls teams, Age ranges/teams are grouped by 2 grades: 3rd&4th, 5th&6th, 7th&8th, 9th&10th, 11th&12th. Typical teams will have practice 1 or 2 days per week during the season with a game on Saturday or Sunday (depending on age). The season for travel runs in the Fall and the Spring. Spring travel includes possible playoff games and the potential for a trip to MTOC.

The Cost for the travel season is $175 (Fall Season Late Aug-Nov, Spring Season Late March-June)

Uniform cost: $75 (jerseys, shorts, socks) - can keep the same uniform for a number of years (depending on the growth of the child)

Teams are formed with parents as coaches. ORU is always looking for parents with children who love to play soccer to help. If interested in coaching, please Email the Recreation Department.
