The Finance Department is responsible for overseeing all financial functions for the Town of Marion as described in Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 41, and the Marion Town bylaws.
The Finance Director/Town Accountant serves as the financial officer of the town and is responsible for coordinating financial information from the Board of Assessors, Town Clerk, and Treasurer/Collector.
The Finance Director/Town Accountant must maintain a complete set of ledgers and the amount of each appropriation, the amounts and purposes of expenditures made, the receipts from each source of income, the amount of each assessment levied, and the abatements made all in accord with the Commonwealth Director of Accounts and the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 44.
